Lake Como in October

I will be traveling to Italy in October from the 3rd to the 24th. Would it be better to be in Lake Como in the beginning or the end of the tour? Is there a weather advantage, or do the services run out by some point in between?? is the funicular running the month? thanks

I think you would be better off going at the start of your trip. We were at Lake Como at the end of October 01, we had a fabulous time but things were starting to shut down. It didn't really bother us, but if you have the option to go there first, do so.
The weather starts to get cool towards the end of the month. We had one day of heavy rain, the other days were cool and dry, in the 50's.
We stayed at Bellagio and cant wait to go back. Have fun
