Lake Como decision asap please

Some of the suggested hotels are booked in June so any feedback will help on:
Hotel Metropole Suisse
Hotel Eremo Gaudio
Hotel belvedere
Hotel Sonenga
Thanks Sheila-t

There are quite a few of us on the forum who strongly recommend the Belvedere. Do a search and you find all the info you need about this wonderful hotel.

Do you mean the Metropole Suisse in Como City or the Metropole in Bellagio? You simply can't compare Como City with Bellagio!!!!!

Singletail Apr 26th, 2004 06:36 AM

I agree that the post is a bit confusing (I won't go into the Como-Bellagio comparison...it is really too bad that the poster didn't have the courtesy to tell you WHY they feel that way but rather treated you like some sort of moron for not knowing it...)..anyway...

are the hotels you listed the ones that ARE fully booked or are these possible alternatives?

I think we settled on the Metropole Suisse right on Lake Como. Unless a few of you think we really need to stay at Hotel Belveder in Bellagio. Both seem to have good reviews on Slowtrav. Thanks anyhow.

I, too, am confused after reading your last post. Why did you bother posting in the first place? What do/did you want to know?

Holly_uncasdewar Apr 27th, 2004 03:29 PM

Howard, she originally posted on 04/24. It's now 04/27. It appears that over the past 3 days, she's made her decision. She was courteous enough to come back and tell the responders what she decided. Why so rude???

HowardR Apr 27th, 2004 06:06 PM

Before you start calling someone rude, read this entire thread. If you consider my comments rude, m'am, then you don't know what rude is !

Holly_uncasdewar Apr 27th, 2004 07:38 PM

I did read the entire thread before I posted, Howard. And I certainly do know what rude is, and I, for one, am getting awfully sick and tired of seeing so much of it on this board lately.

We stayed in Como but I think Bellagio was much nicer and would have preferred it to Como.

Hey thanks to all- We did need to deside quickly and many of the places recommended were booked by the time we got around to deciding. I promise i will do a quick posting when we get back to inform others of the places we stayed. Your suggestions and help have been so very helpful. This is our first trip to Italy and I cannot wait.
