Lahinch for non golfers

Four of us will be headed to Western Ireland, currently plan on staying in Lahinch. Two of us are avid golfers; the other two enjoy the walk, but are looking for other great activities to win the golfers over. Thought biking in Aran Islands could be a hit for one day (Inis Mor?). Does anyone have any other suggestions? We are fairly active, like hiking, birding, nature, pubs, music, exploring towns, wandering.

Has anyone stayed in Lahinch? Is that a nice town, or all golf and surfing? Should we even be staying there?

Can one get around without a car?

We've never been to Ireland, so everything we do will be a first and special!

Before this thread disappears ... we have gone on two golfing trips to Lahinch, but we stayed in Doolin both times as some guys wanted to enjoy the music scene there. I am not sure if things have changed in the past five years.

Lahinch is a classic course. Enjoy yourselves.

Lahinch has a beautiful beach and nice village. Do visit the Surf shop, it is the fist in Ireland and many people do surf there.

It's a nice area just to wander... and the Cliffs of Moher are close by as well.
