Laduree macarons

If I buy a box of macarons, how long will they keep in good condition? Thinking of bringing one home as a gift.

cmcfong Apr 17th, 2005 08:41 AM

When I asked this question at the shop they told me three or four days, max.

Patrick Apr 17th, 2005 08:45 AM

If they manage to stay intact by the time you get home, then your willpower must be far greater than most.
My immediate answer to your question "how long will they keep in good condition" would be "the couple of hours or at most days it will take you to eat them up."

SusanP Apr 17th, 2005 08:57 AM

While Patrick is correct :[ if you do have willpower, cmcfong is correct, they really don't stay fresh to long.

SusanP Apr 17th, 2005 08:58 AM

Well, obviously I didn't mean to get that bat icon! It should have been ;;) !

SusanP Apr 17th, 2005 09:00 AM

Maybe I should give up...don't stay fresh TOO long!

Patrick Apr 17th, 2005 09:03 AM

Susan, I'm much relieved. I was wondering why I was suddenly a bat, but I've been called much worse.

Hi v,

I brought home a box of 18 mini macarons from Pierre Herme'.

I kept them in a closed tin and had one per day.

The last was as good as the first.

Ira, You have way more self-discipline than I do! ;;)

The best macarons I've ever had wes at Lenôtre on the Champs Elysees between the Arc and the Louvre, right in the middle.

Ira, the metal tin must be the trick. That's good to know. I just kept mine in the box they came in and the last couple were getting a bit stale (I was trying to make them last longer...).

the website is www.lenotre.fr without the accent on the o.

My experience with Paris Macarons was- 2 -3 days TOPS for the "primo"freshness and Macarons taste at their finest.
However, keeping them in a tin would be "the way to go" for a longer life. Of course the Pierre Herme'macaroons would not last past 3 days with me, as I would not be able to stop eating them. What a wonderful shop.

>You have way more self-discipline than I do!<

No, my Lady Wife kept the tin of macarons under her pillow.
