Ladies long weekend - choosing a destination

Hello, there are 5 of us in our late 20's to early 30's and we would like to take a long weekend to Europe. Yes, I know short. Some of us will probably stay longer but not everyone can take off as much work.
We are looking at the closest cities that Delta flies from ATL direct, Dublin, Rome, Paris, Madrid (one girl in the group has already been and doesn't want to go back, but would it be easy to get to where I really want to go?), Barcelona and London. I really want to go to Portugal, but Delta doesn't go direct.
Any cities that someone could recommend for us to go to. We love wine, sights, the outdoors (well I do!), the countryside, the city!
Thanks so much and look forward to hearing from ya'll!

I sure don't have an experience answer to your question, nikkicj, but it seems to me that a lot of women even when they travel on their own sure enjoy Paris. So off the top of my head perhaps Paris would be the good selection for all of you. But I would sure recommend that all of you do some research and somehow come to a common decision. Best wishes and I hope whatever your group decides it is a happy adventure.

Wow impossible to choose ! Just a few quick thoughts. You don't say when you're going.... summer can be hot and very crowded especially further south. I live in London, I love it and I've been to all the other cities.
If you're looking for manageable size i.e easy to walk around, great food, nightlife and incredible quirky architecture go for Barcelona and it has a beach.
Rome is an outdoor museum: stunning, everyone should go there at least once.
I wouldn't choose Dublin or Madrid over your other options.
Paris is beautiful, elegant less "edgy". London to Paris on Eurostar is an easy day trip - 2.5 hours.

I'd vote for Barcelona -- easy to get around, lots to see with a beach right there. Great food and wine and a fun, causal feel to the city. U could go out of the city for a day trip if u wish. 2nd choice would be Paris. Dublin would be good if u r into pub hopping and lots of drinking, but I don't think the food is as good as in Paris or Barcelona. It does have quite the internationl feel to it. Definitely Barcelona over Madrid. Rome just seems too big and spread out, but could be fun.

Oh yay, responses! We are looking at going in October or September, and I love hot weather! How is the weather in Barcelona in those months?

Just a thought: when we were in Dublin, we were seated in a pub next to a group of girls doing a girls weekend from Canada. They were having a fabulous time.

Barcelona. It probably won't be hot, but it will be temperate with plenty to do. Do keep in mind it is a destination spot for hen parties.

Hen parties?

bachelorette parties.

I'd vote for Barcelona or Paris, as well.

I haven't been to Barcelona yet, but Paris would be lots of fun!
Wine! Food! Shopping! Sites! City! Wonderful parks (for countryside.) Did I mention wine?

The shortest flights are actually to London and Amsterdam IME. Direct flights offered by Delta Codeshare carriers. Same for Paris.

Thanks everyone looks like we are going to Paris, and some of us are going early are going to explore another country. Not sure where yet.

Well, u can't go wrong with Paris. Amsterdam and Paris make an easy combo -- u can easily take the train from Amsterdam to Paris. Have fun!
