There used to be a good restaurant next to La Scala. If I remember, the name was La Scala too.
I had lunch and it was very good. Pricewise it was okay, even though this was a bit posh.
I would eat there again, if I have a chance.

We dressed a little more than usual travel wear, suit for male, blouse and dressy skirt with jacket, high heeled shoes for female.
we were glad we did, our attire seemed appropriate.
You could probably manage to dress down a little, but I think not jeans and t-shirts - although we did see some who were pretty casual. We were in the cheap seats. We had other occasions on the trip, so had some decent clobber.

There is no dress code for women..but there is for men :
"Gentlemen are kindly requested to wear evening dress for premieres. Gentlemen are in any case required to wear a jacket and tie at all performances. Items of clothing which do not comply with a proper theatre decorum shall not be accepted."
That's from the Scala website.
It is ok to wear jeans if it is not a premiere. Not ok snickers !

I dressed up a bit and I would have felt out of place if I had dressed down. I would not go to a LaScala performance if I had to wear touring attire. An outfit that is black high quality fabric with nice jewelry and nice shoes should be fine.
