La Sagrada Familia

Should I visit the towers?

Thanks

NOTE: Can a larger man fit in the towers?

We thought they were worthwhile, great views. Good close views of the external construction.

not sure larger means... Tall? weight?

Google la sagrada familia towers youtube video, there are lots available and you can get an idea of the amount of room walking down.

I was glad I visited one of the towers for the reasons Debit NM gives. On the Nativity side, one takes an elevator up and walks down, with a small segment very near the top where people try to walk in both directions. I thought that section a bit tight for two people to pass (though it was manageable), so if you visit that tower, you might want to "just" go down. Or you might want to consider the tower on the Passion side -- I believe you can take an elevator up AND down on that side. I don't know for sure, though -- I didn't visit that side.

Hope that helps!

Hi,

The best thing about the towers are the views, I personally think there are other places, easier to access and more comfortable to enjoy the views, for instance Montjuic hill and Park Güell.

Hi Mastvin1000, we'd suggest just taking in the beauty of the main level of Sagrada Familia, and not being concerned about climbing the towers, if it gives you pause. As indicated above, views of Barcelona are great from Montjuic and Park Guell. And Sagrada Familia can be seen in those views, especially from Monjuic, as we remember. Enjoy Barcelona!

Just visited today. Loved Sagrada Familia but didn't think the tower was worth it. I'd save your time/energy/money for something else (including more time in the main level and museum).

Agree with some above - we found our visit to the tower only to be "ok"

Quick tip. If you're visiting the Barcelona Cathedral, we paid the small fee to go up on the roof. That was much more value. Hardly anyone up there and lot's of great opportunities for photos. (To gain entrance to the roof of the cathedral is a small door on the left of the alter where you can pay the fee.

there were long queues for the towers when we were there so we didn't bother.

unlike many here [and unlike friends of ours who spent 5 hours exploring La Sagrada and still wanted more] we were largely unmoved by it and found an hour or so more than enough.
