La Latina or Gran Via?
Hello!
Thanks for everyone's suggestions for our vacation to Madrid and Barcelona over Christmas/New Years so far! We have our apartment choices narrowed down and now can I get an opinion from those that have been to or live near these areas? 3 of the apartments are in the La Latina neighborhood. I am leaning towards one of these. The other 2 are off Calle de Valverde just north of Gran Via (1-2 blocks). Can anyone shed some light on these areas? Thanks so much! |
Hi Sofee,
do you know the streets in La Latina? Calle Valverde is more or less OK, but it could be noisy and there are some iffy areas nearby ( calle Desengaño and the square nearby have attracted the neigbours protests because of drug-peddlers and prostitutes). I would prefer La Latina, specially if you know the streets. Rgds, Cova |
Cova,
Thanks for your reply! Here are the streets: Apt a: Calle del Conde de Romanones (just north of Calle de la Colegiata) Apt b: Calle de Atocha (right where it intersects with Calle de la Concepcion Jeronima) Apt c: Calle de los Estudios (just southeast of Calle de Toledo) I really appreciate any feedback! |
All three apartments are close!
I think that the best street is Conde de Romanones. |
There is also something on Alamendro Street that looks nice!
Thanks again! |
Calle del Almendro?
It's hilly, walkable and there are tapas bars. Maybe noisy. |
I agree with Revulgo. Probably Conde de Romanones is the nicest one, but I feel that any of those locations are much better than the ones in Valverde.
The one in the Almendro street would be extremely handy to prowl along Cava Baja and surroundings. Donīt miss "Txakoli" there ! Cova |
