Sorry, yes, a restaurant. Maybe I'm way off, but I was thinking it kind of shared that block or even the sidewalk/courtyard, but my memory fades each passing minute!

This was probably over 10 years ago, so it is possible I'm remembering Germany at this point (just kidding!).

We are told there was a FOOD TASTER in the kitchen although the Secret Service refuses to confirm or deny

Christain Constant's "Fables de la Fontaine" shares the same courtyard with "Fontaine de Mars". Fables was not there 10 years ago, I believe.

Stu,

I think Fables was added late 2003 or early 2004.

There is a place next door called L'Arcade Cafe which used to be La Croque en Sel.

Yes, the Prez has a food taster. We are returning to medieval times.

Actually, Fables de Fontaine replaced La Croqueau sel.
and that was verified by the Paris Touris site.
Both were/are locateded at 131 St Dominique.

Actually the Fables de la Fontaine took over the old Paris-Brest site; the Croque au Sel was just beside it, behind the fountain on the Rue de la Exposition side , but went out of business a few years back. As Christina stated the site is now occupied by a place called l'Arcade.
