la calçotada: food festival in Catalunya

I have mentioned the calçotada (sweet roasted onion festival) a few times, but as there are quite a few people headed to Barcelona/Catalunya soon, you should know just what it is. Check out this instructional video on:
http://landofguirisvideos.ning.com
Just click on the calçotada one submitted by yours truly. Yes, that is me in the video.

The calçotada is one of the truly remarkable experiences Catalunya offers the visitor.

Great! I remember having a calcotada near the monastery of Poblet (or was it Santes Creus???), but I can't remember the season. Laclaire, what are the prime calcot eating times of year?

Right now. Calçots are only available from Jan to late March/early April, so eat them while you can!
