If you're going to drive, no problems. You just get off the A1 highway at Skradin exit (1h drive from Split) and follow the signposts. After visiting Krka National Park return to A1 and continue to Zagreb (2.5 h drive). In July and August try to avoid travelling on Saturdays and Sundays.

Yes, Jack...Plitvice has the nod. You saw my pics with snow on the ground at Plit..that was taken in spring. I did it in October way back in 1983...only a handful in the park at that time..gates open...stay overnight at the very comfortable Hotel Jezero (lake)...in '04 I paid less than 100 € for a balcony view of the park..fantastic. Not a bad hotel restaurant either. Do it Jack.
