Krakow apartment location

We are considering stay in one of 2 apartments. One is on Karmelicka street on west side of Krakow; the other is located "in an historic building from 1884 8 minutes from Main square and 5 minutes to Kazmierez. I know the latter is ambiguous but thats all I have. Anyone familiar with these areas who can comment on neighborhoods? Thank you.

Maybe the map below will help you make a decision.
ul. Karmelicka is right outside the Old Town.

Caroline, what a fantastic map. Thank you! Where did you find? I'm still hopeful someone's familiar with the neighborhoods. Based on comments here and elsewhere, best to be within the Planty but that's not where our options are.,

Hi,
You're welcome. I'm glad you found that map a little useful.
It took a little while to find this particular map but it was one of the best ones I saw online.
Anyway, I think ul. Karmelicka area is very nice. It's right outside Old Town. It's still a historic old town just not the oldest part like the area within Planty park.

If you would like to expand your choices and add some options within Planty here are some apts I found.

Old Town Apartments
They have two locations (Plac Szczepanski and Szpitalna Street iside Planty)
