I agree with this. After Auschwitz, I got back to Krakow around 2:30 p.m. and nothing I did felt "right" after that. It was very unsettling for me and I was just at a loss what to do.

It took me several days to recover.

All of this is about a three hour drive east of Kraków,
with an overnight in Rzeszów.

We took the train from Prague to Krakow and I would not recommend- it was a long trip!! And then we took the train from Krakow to Amsterdam - not as long but somehow we did not have seat assignments and on a Sunday turned out there were no seats. Our fellow travelers were lovely and made room for us in their berths. Re Prague vs Budapest - I highly prefer Budapest - so much more there, a really grand city great food, history, culture and much more spread out so not as tight, touristy in the "must see" places.

Instead of train you may want to try Tiger Express minibus conection from PRague to Krakow
