Konstanz to Meersburg Ferry Question

Hi, we will be travelling by train from Zurich to Konstanz, and need to get from the train station in Konstanz to Meersburg where our lodging is. I have read that there are 2 options 1)take a passenger boat or 2)take a car ferry from the main dock. However, I can't locate any specifics on either option. We will be each be travelling with one carry-on size roller bag, so any specific advice on getting across the lake would be appreciated. Thanks!

We crossed between Konstanz and Meersburg a few times in 2011. The car ferry is far more frequent so we used that. The ferry terminal is very close to the centre of Meersburg but the ferry terminal in Konstanz requires a bus to/from the centre of Konstanz. I can't remember the bus number but it will be available online. It took a surprisingly long time to get from the ferry terminal to Konstanz rail station (20-30 minutes) as it took an indirect route but seemed to be quicker in the reverse direction. No problems with luggage that I recall. We paid for the ferry on the ferry but you can also buy at the ticket booth.

This site says bus 5 which rings a bell. http://stadtwerke.konstanz.de/en/mob...imetables.html

BTW: the bus from Zurich (downtown, NOT airport) to Konstanz is cheaper than the train:
