I live near the hotel so I can tell you its a great location. Hotel is situated near beach and is consider as one of well managed and highest service quality hotel among many other hotels around
|
Ivod,

Can you recommend a few of the others? Something close to, if not in, the old part of the city?
|
We stayed at the Hotel Bellevue a few years ago and enjoyed it, I believe they have renovated since. It was a shor walk from the old town, maybe 10 minutes and had a great view of the Adriatic.

A more expensive option is the Excelsior which is also close to the old town in the opposite direction. If you do a search you should be able to find some info on both.

At the time we went there was no accomodations in the old town. It is a rather small area.

Theres only one hotel in old city, and the most expensive one as well! if You want to stay inside city walls I think it will be better to find a private accomodation there. I know some private houses with nice hotel comfort rooms.
Other good hotels near Kompas are:Park,Splendid, Vis, Komodor, Neptun or Lapad. Prices there are same as KOmpas or a litlle bit less. Feel free to ask me here or on [email protected] everything you want about Dubrovnik

is the kompas hotel a short walk from old city? we won't have a car...
anything else inexpensive and with a view of the sea? thanks, k. |
Noticed the original posting date on this was 3 years ago, but interested in getting information about this hotel as well. Hopefully Ivod is reading these and can offer assistance. Like Kawh, we're staying there and won't have a car-how walkable is the Kompas into old town? Now, shifting gears just a bit and not meaning to hi-jack the thread, but was hoping Ivod could comment on day trips (specifically each to Montenegro and Bosnia) when we want to take a break from Dubrovnik. THANKS!
