Sounds like a big ole commercial for this search engine. All you dot.coms are flush with cash, go advertise on T.V. like the rest of 'em.

It's not worth the effort. I didn't find it any better than the search engines at aol, yahoo and the others. Maybe not even as good!

Fodors keeps claiming that their policy is no advertising and that policing the postings is something that might be good. Well, I see little evidence that there is active inspection of messages that tout some service. If Fodors in serious about no advertising, their actions are relatively ineffective. <BR>Maybe they do it once a day and this one escaped.

Al, do you really think that someone or a group of someones are looking at every single Fodor's post every day to "monitor" the site? Even if they used a program to search for key words, they wouldn't catch all posts that violate their policies. As the rules clearly state, if Fodor's visitors find a commercial promotion they should e-mail Fodor's at the given address. That's the way it's been and that's what works, so instead of posting your gripes here, send Fodor's an e-mail.

I agree with 'anonymous' it's not very good - I tried to look up things which are usually quite easy to get website suggestions for - but I just got the message that it couldn't find anything

Just a moment ago I visited http://www.topresult.com and searched "caribbean beach",the results are satisfying.I tried again on Yahoo! and I SHOULD say the former is better.I read the post carefully and think the author want to share with us his favorite search engine,but his language is too professional to make you misunderstand him.

The mere fact that the original poster has not returned to "defend" himself/herself says something about the intent of the posting, eh?

I don't expect anything. Also, the policy is not very obvious when glancing at the Travel Lounge Home. <BR>Nor are we the normal readers encouraged to report advertising. <BR>My point is this: We are not the police force for the Travel Lounge. If Fodors makes a policy, then it seems like it is up to Fodors to enforce it; or empower us better to report violations. <BR>There is nothing on the Travel Lounge Home page that gives any guidance to the readers on what to do when advertising appears. Come to think of it, what do you do?? I have reported advertising more than once and nothing ever came of it that I could detect. I think the advertising post just died a natural death by slipping farther down the listings.
