know any websites for detailed maps of Italy?

Does anyone know of websites that provide maps/locate specific towns, especially in Italy?
A woman who owns the store I get my pancetta from has family, brother etc,who lives in Guilianova, in the province of Teramo.
She says this is close to the Gaeta area where we will be next yr.
She thinks it would be great for us to stop in on her brother, and visit.
I am unable to locate this on any maps I have, and am stymied when I look for maps on the computer.
Thanks for any info.

I hate to correct people's spelling, but surely you mean gIUlianova. The website www.mapquest.com will locate you it for you with no problem - - in fact, you may be able to click on the following address:

http://www.mapquest.com/cgi-bin/ia_f...h%3aa%3bwh%7c2

and it will take you right to it.

It's a small place so you will have to back it out ("un-zoom") to see where it is, exactly.

There are also a number of websites (basically all hotels) listed for Giulianova on Yahoo! Italia - - www.it.yahoo.com - - the town's "official" website has been de-activated (disattivato). I looked at a few of the hotel websites, and the site of the Grand Hotel Don Juan - - http://duialca.com/donjuan/index.html - - gives you a sense of the type of resort area that this is.

Best wishes,

Rex

Nancy--- I have a Europe Shell Atlas Book that I thought was very detailed, but for my life, I can't find Guilianova!!! The closest I get is a small town northeast of Bologna called Guiglia?! Please post if you find it.

Maira - - looks like you and I were posting almost simultaneously.

I feel sure she is asking about gIUlianova not gUIlianova.

And I posted just a little bit ago about www.euroshell.com since www.cwlease.com is now de-activated. It works fine to do a route from Ancona to Giulianova, for example. It (Giulianova) is straight south of Ancona, on the Adriatic coast - - 124 km, to be precise.

Rex and Maira,
Thank you for the website suggestion, Rex.
By the way, I never mind if someone corrects my spelling.
Are there indeed two towns with similar spellings? As it seemed you asked Maira?
The woman I was talking to led me to believe this town was south of Rome, and near Gaeta, which is on the west coast, not the east coast/Adriatic Sea.
I tried the map site, I am finding it a bit confusing with all the zooming.
But it sure does give detailed maps!!!
Maira,
Thanks for checking this out for me.
I always appreciate it when people go out of their way to help!
I will continue my search.

Rex,
I finally got onto mapquest and did a check for driving directions.
It seems the woman and I had a misunderstanding,
I was trying out my fledgling italian with her, and she must have thought I was trying to say Chieti, instead of Gaeta.
Chieti is indeed near Giulianova, which is indeed on the Adriatic as you said, Rex.
So, even though I now know we will not be able to see her brother,
I have now learned;
1-how to use mapquest
2-how to spell Giulianova
3-a few new interesting geographic facts about Italy.
Thanks again.
