Know a good gulet?

My husband and I are looking for a high quality gulet trip off either the Agean or Med coast of Turkey for late June or July. There seem to be enormous differences in itinerary, accommodations and cuisine among them, and I'm not sure that the differences in prices reliably reflect what you get in terms of these things. Does anyone know of a really good company or agency where we can book such a trip?

Dear Allana,

Do you wish to participate on a Gulet Charter booking a cabin or do you wish to charter the Gulet privately ? Thats a key questions.
There are many options and ofcourse prices are variying; service, type of gulet and its extras, provisioning, crew, itinerary etc. Prices set depending on quality and service.

I would like to give suggestions if you have decided type of charter.

Good Luck

TO Melissa Bennett ([email protected]

I think this answer your question:

Author: Kris ([email protected])
Date: 06/03/2002, 11:02 am
Message: One more thing, we never felt unsafe anywhere in Turkey. The Turkish people are very friendly and most seemed to be pleased to see Americans. The decision by the cruise lines to stay out of Turkey this year has really affected the economy in Kusadasi (Ephesus), not so much in Istanbul as there still seemed to be plenty of tourists.

DID YOU LIKE?

ABC

went to turkey in 1999 and rented a gulet in Bodrum by just walking on the pier and talking to "captains"...the boat we took for a 7 day rental was through a company called "Blue Fun" it was a great trip and the crew of 3 for 2 couples was wonderful and i think it cost us less than $700.00 cash american dollars for the week and that included breakfast and lunch...we stopped at charming friendly towns along the coast that included Datcha,Maramis,Simi and ended in Dalaman.Having US dollars made it easier to negotiate everything . I want to do it again soon. write me if you want more info....

Hi Allana, We took a 4 day gulrt from Antalya to Kas last June in the middle of our vacation to Turkey. We booked thru Pasha Tours. It wasn't high quality, no a/c and simple food, but it was the most fun I think I've ever had on a vacation without my kids. Anyway, I saw a web site called www.credo, that looked like very luxurious gulets where ou could either charter the boat and crew or just rent a cabin. Check out theur web site, it looked magical.
