KLM Shuttle Bus to Amsterdam Hotels
Has anyone ever taken the KLM shuttle bus from Amsterdam's airport to their hotel?

Is is faster/better/cheaper than taking a train in to Central Station & then walking or taking a cab?
Anyone?

We took the KLM from airport to hotel behind the Marriott (I think) just of the Leidseplein. I think it was a great service, trying to remember the cost - maybe $4-7 per person?... Much less hassle than getting bags to the train, off the train, find a cab, etc.
I will sign off this note and find the information about the shuttle, if you need it (which hotels it covers)..
Thank you Alice -- I saw it mentioned in my Frommer's book & thought it sounded like a good deal.

We're staying at the Hotel Memphis -- which I believe is a stop.

The desk at Schipol is very helpful, and you just get on the shuttle and buy a ticket from the driver...

This is probably a duplication of info but here goes:
From Frommer's website:
GETTING TO FROM THE AIRPORT
The KLM Hotel Shuttle bus operates between the airport and the city center on a circular route directly serving 16 top hotels (Pulitzer, Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, Golden Tulip Barbizon Palace, Tulip Inn, Jolly Hotel Carlton, Golden Tulip Barbizon Center, Park Hotel, Museum Hotel, Cok B.T.S. Class Hotel, Memphis Hotel, Amsterdam Hilton, Le Meridien Apollo, Okura, Holiday Inn Amsterdam, and Novotel), with stops close to many others. The fare is Dfl 17.50 ($8.75) one-way; no reservations are needed and buses leave every 20 minutes between 7am and 6pm and every 30 minutes between 6 and 9:30pm from in front of Schiphol Plaza. Check at the KLM Hotel Desk for information-if you're not staying at one of the above hotels, the clerks can tell you which KLM Hotel Shuttle stop is closest to your chosen lodgings.
I took a shuttle from a hotel to the airport, but can't remember if it was KLM's or not. The shuttle didn't stop at the Owl Hotel, but I only had to walk about 4 blocks to where it did stop. I can't remember what it cost. I took the train from the airport to Central Station when I arrived in A'dam, then took the tram to the hotel. I only had one wheeled bag so it wasn't too difficult to manage luggage and the tram stopped within a block or two of the hotel. If you don't have a lot of luggage, this works OK. If you have more than one piece of luggage and the shuttle stops at your hotel, the shuttle is the way to go, otherwise it's a tossup IMO.

Train, buy a tram ticket at the small place just opposite centraal station (ask for a strippencart, its a good deal), takes care of your transport for a while.

Afterthought- sometimes its easier to get the hotel bus on the way back, but the train is so convenient when you get off the plane that its hard to beat.

Arriving by train to Amsterdam from Paris. Does it make sense to detrain at the airport and take KLM shuttle bus to the Hilton? Otherwise, I would go to Centraal Station and take cab. Appreciate any help!
