Not that recently, but 2 years ago we went on a 747 from L.A. to Amsterdam and the service was superb.

Use it all the time but mostly for short haul. Anything you'd like to know?

Yes, from Amsterdam to Cape Town in April on their newest B777. We were very satisfied with their service overall.

We use KLM from time to time through Amsterdam because they are a Northwest Airlines partner. There is no reason not to take them up on a good fare from Atlanta to Paris that I can think of. You should use a Northwest WorldPerks account to collect the miles. (If you are not a regular Northwest flyer, there still are ways to make good use of even relatively small numbers of miles via cash & miles deals that come up from time to time.)

KLM is fine. We are NW flyers and the alliance they have with KLM makes lots of destinations possible for us in our frequent flyer program. No complaints whatsoever. Their Amsterdam hub is efficient also.

thanks to all of you.

my trip is not particularly complicated. i want to be in paris until the 26th of dec. then fly on to london and out to ATL. i need to return to atlanta on the 31st.

i have a "reasonable " fare via AF (with whom i have flown many times) of $800 (which includes the cdg to lhr leg). is there any way i can do better than this?

believe it or not, our average individual overseas flights have generally been about $450.
