KLM airport shuttle in Amsterdam
I have heard of shuttle from the airport to downtown hotels, run by KLM. Has anyone used it, and is it just for KLM passengers or can anyone ride? Thanks!

Have not used or heard of a KLM shuttle. However, busses leave in a variety of directions to a variety of destinations just outside the main terminal entrance. Of course, you can take a train to Am CS from the airport, also. The following site may help: www.schipol. Also, there is a site (which I don't have handy) for train and, I think bus, travel) in the Netherlands. It may be a little more specific than the fantastic Deutsch Bahn website.
Hi, I used the shuttle in May--if I knew which hotel or near what "landmark", I could tell you exactly as I happen to still have the 2000 Neth. Tourist Bureau book with a listing. It usually stops in the area near several hotels. We stayed at the Cok City Hotel and had to walk up about two blocks to the Sofitel. Cost about $9 US, goes about every 30 minues. HMH

Everyone can use the KLM shuttle. It is more expensive and slower than the train to Amsterdam, but the advantage is it drops you off in front of your hotel if your hotel is on their list of destinations.
The Netherlands' train site is www.ns.nl (go to "reisplanners" and choose "English")
Schiphol's site is www.schiphol.nl
We used the KLM shuttle and walked one block to our hotel... here is some info about it: http://www.schiphol.nl/engine
Click on 'transport', then 'bus', then 'hotel courtesy bus'....
KLM was best for us b/c if taking the train, we would still have needed add'l transport to the hotel, which was near Leidseplein. And, although not solicited, here is a nice web site for general info. re Amsterdam: http://www.channels.nl and http://www.cwi.nl/~steven/amsterdam.html
Happy travels...!
