KLM

Has anyone flown KLM to Amsterdam. How was it, coach that is. Thanks for any help.

I flown KLM to AMS several times out of Minneapolis; always in 747s, though they also have some MD-11s. They're fine; neither particularly above or below what I'm accustomed to with other carriers. You can collect miles (including elite qualifying miles) in the Northwest WorldPerks program, as I presume you know. :o)

Make that "I've" flown.. My kingdom for an edit function!
Flew KLM 747 from MEX-AMS then AMS-MSP.
Flew coach. No problems at all. Courteous staff. Good movies.

My wife had a slight complaint that was funny..."...they woke us up at 2am to serve us ice-cream !!"
LAX to AMS on KLM many times. It is my favorite.

I've flown them coach to AMS several times...more friendly and attentive than their Northwest "cousins."
Once they showed one of those practical jokes videos. It was fun to hear a whole plane full of people of different nationalities laughing in unison...it's nice to see that there are some things that break down barriers!

Ice cream at 2 AM? We are flying MSP to AMS on November 9th and I am just glad to hear you get food! I've flown domestic a dozen times since Sept. 11 and never been given anything but pretzels. Glad to hear that you still get food on trans-Atlantic flights!

We flew from Seattle to Amsterdam on KLM. Everything was fine. Nice crew and good movies. No complaints and we would use that carrier again.

We flew from L.A. to Amsterdam on KLM last summer. Great flight (747). Don't forget to get the mileage -- you can be perpetually upgraded!

gen Oct 28th, 2002 06:16 PM

Perpetually upgraded?!! I wish! Our tickets cost almost $600 each and we have been told that our tickets are too cheap to upgrade with our miles! Look like we are stuck in steerage........
