Kiwi Taxi Moscow

Hi

Landing at Domododovo airport what can one say about the service of Kiwi taxi? reliable? safe?

What is your final destination? I prefer to take the Aeroexpress to Paveletsky station and the metro from there, if you are heading to central Moscow. There can be alot of traffic, so prefer public transport.

Our destination is Vega hotel. From Paveltskaya we have to change twice in the metro.Under these condition stil Aeroexpress?

Taxis are a bit of PITA in Moscow
I took the official(?.) taxi from Dom.
Metropol hotel... they asked abou 100 dollars, I said no , so we
settled for $80.
I was too tired to take Aeroexpress
and metro.
Metro signs are in Cirilic alphabet only. You can purchase AEx ticket on line.

I have never ordered an official taxi from a hotel as they are too expensive. I speak and read some Russian so navigating the trains and metro is not an issue for me, but might be for a first time visitor. Izmailovo is quite far from the city centre, it is a long metro ride from Paveletskaya, I would use the official taxis at Domodedovo. What time of day are you arriving? Getting stuck in traffic on the MKAD is also not a great option.

With official taxis at Dom., it is still better to negotiate the fare .
I don't bather with hotel arranged taxis ( way too much ), but I speak some Russian.
if you have a lot of luggage and don't read Russian alphabet
you may have no choice.

Your hotel is way outside the center....expect to pay more than $100.

The journey is quite straightforward on the MKAD, being way outside the centre doesn't necessarily make it more expensive. It is still within Moscow city limits. However the traffic can be heavy depending on day/time. Some official taxis have set rates so cannot always negotiate. The point is to use official taxis and not take any old one outside the airport terminal.

Hi,

Never used Kiwi, but their booking and payment process seems a bit convoluted, and any price benefits are not immediately clear (the final price confirmation is after you book ???)

According to DME's official site, "economy-class" taxi to Vega (NE district) booked via official taxi counter would cost you 3300 roubles (about 55 dollars).
You land, go through customs, you proceed to the nearest official counter as shown on DME's map, you pay with your CC or cash, you are shown to your cab. No haggling, no negotiations, prices are fixed.

In Moscow and Saint-Petersburg airports better use Uber or Gett (the same as Uber).
There is free wi-fi zone in every airports and you can order taxi. 80$ it's tooooo much. From Moscow airports price on Uber and Gett will be around 15-17$.
