France: Driving from Bonnieux to Manosque...how are the roads?

Hi. I will be driving very early in the A.M. (before sunrise) from Bonniex to Manosque to meet up with a group of photographers...will be driving alone. Can anyone advise about the roads...desolate? Mountainous? Safe? Google says it takes about 1 hour, but will I be driving through difficult terrain or steep winding roads?

I appreciate any input!
Thank you.

Thank you, Stu, I was hoping you would reply...I read some of your posts coaching another traveler debating whether to rent a car or take a tour bus around the Luberon...you obviously know your way around the Luberon.

I freak out a bit on desolate roads by myself if they go on for too long. There will likely be no one on the roads at that time, right? Well, good photographers should be...LOL.

What could you possibly be freaked out about? I am on French roads in the middle of the night/early in the morning all the time and can't even imagine what you could be afraid of. And I'm an "old" woman. So what if there aren't other people on the roads - what does that tell you other than that it's not a well-traveled road - so effing what? So much the better!

Chill.

You'll get to Manoque on the N100 - which is the main road through the Luberon. You'll see other drivers, unless you'll be traveling past 1am & before sunrise.

Driving before sunrise in a foreign country where I don't speak the language and don't know my way around is a little intimidating, but I'll do it. I was mostly concerned about the condition (narrowness) of the roads. Anyway, thank you both for your responses...I appreciate it.
