Kinsale, Ireland. Gallery B&B or Lighthouse B&B?
Has anybody ever stayed at or heard anything about either of these places? Trying to decide between the two. The lighthouse in particular I have not been able to find any review about. Maybe it's new, otherwise it must not be very popular. I thought my father might enjoy the fact that the hostess shares his same surname (o'gorman) and it looks nice enough. Anybody?

I stayed at The Gallery last May and would definitely go back. We had the family room, which was quite spacious. The other rooms I saw looked small, but nice. The breakfasts were very good (lemon pancakes one morning) and the owner was very friendly. The best thing is that they have a parking lot in the back, which is hard to find in Kinsale.

Early June(maybe we have the same dates?). Only this is for my parents. Does the Gallery seem better suited for younger 30 something people? My parents are in thier early 50's but like that sort of thing.

I stayed at the Gallery a few years ago. It was anice place and very convenient to the town. Parking was a little weird though. You have to park around back, but bring your bags in from the front as I remember. It's a bit of a hike.
The husband of the owner is a jazz musician which was one of my attractions to the place. We had a nice chat about the state of jazz after breakfast. It's a neat little place.

Understand that I prefer to stay in the countryside most of the time. I don't really remember the comfort of the beds. Given that, I would say it was about a 6-7. The one thing I remember is that, if you go to bed early, you take the risk of noise outside the window. It didn't bother me, but it bothered my wife. Thus, I usually stay in the country.

cheriann, I can't help you since I haven't stayed in either, but I wanted to say that I am considering the Lighthouse just based on the website. If you stay there, I will be very interested in your parents' opinion. (I have until October!)

Thank you Bill. That really helped me alot with my decision.
I'll let you know how the lighthouse works out.
This week my grandfather fell ill and it looks as though the whole trip might have to be cancelled indefinitely. Things are still uncertain though. If they do stay at the lighthouse before Oct. I will let you know.
