I enjoyed the Cephas house which is not in town but an easy walk. See the post titled Cephas House.

We stayed at the Kilcaw Guest House last September. It is set on a lovely hill overlooking a green meadow. It is about a 15 minute walk, 5 minute drive in to town. Christina Mitchel is a lovely host. Very nice place. If you go tell her the Spinelli's (September 2003) say hello.

thanks - will look into these. is this a better option than cork city to stay overnight or do i increase our choices 10x by staying in the city? thanks in advance

Kinsale has plenty of lodging options and Cork is a good sized city that is difficult to drive in. Cork is not usually considered much of a tourist destination.

A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it -- Blue Haven in the center of Kinsale.
