Kinsale & Kilkenny IRELAND B&B Recommendations?

Hi there,

My husband and I will be spending time in SW & SE Ireland this June and I am hoping you all might have suggestions on good B&B's in both Kinsale and Kilkenny.

We are looking for something within walking distance to the town centers so we can avoid driving after visiting the pubs.

Thanks much!

We liked Celtic House B&B in Kilkenny. The hosts are John and Angela Byrne. It's in a great location, about 2-3 minutes from the main road through town.

I *loved* Kilkenny - such a cute town. We had a great time listening to traditional Irish music and making friends with some locals at a pub called "Paris Texas." Have fun!

We liked the Old Presbytere in Kinsale. I think it has recently qualified for Karen Brown's recommended stays. It was well located for everything you will enjoy in Kinsale--restaurants, pubs with music, etc. And it has excellent parking. Have a great trip!

Another vote for Celtic house. Off street parking, five minute walk to the Castle.

Hi,

My husband and I stayed at Sallyport House in Kinsale last June and dined (on Fodorite recommendation) at the Lime Tree (a short walk away through the back garden, past the stream of Sallyport House) - absolutely gorgeous!

Not cheap, but a beautiful spot!

Hi,

Sorry...Sallyport House is in Kenmare!

In Kinsale, we stayed at the Old Bank House which we thought was expensive and provided the poorest breakfast we had in ten days of B&Bs.

Kinsale itself though is a gorgeous sport and we enjoyed the Benjamin Moriarty pub down on the main wharf and their pub grub - yummy!!

The tour of Charles Fort was one of our most memorable events.

Best wishes,

Uh Tuppy, I think you are confusing Kenmare for Kinsale.

My wife, teenage son, and I stayed two nights in Kinsale at the Old Presbytery and is a great place to stay. We would recommend it to anyone. Have fun!
