Killing time in Positano without shopping or beachtime

I need to kill 4 hours in Positano late afternoon before dinner with a husband who doesn't drink, shop or enjoy a beach. Any thoughts on good stuff to plan that wouldn't involve a hike ( since we'll be dressed for a nice dinner)? We enjoy history, art and finding a nice park in which to read. Thanks.

Hmmm tough one...I don't remember parks due to the steep hill Positano is built on. What about sitting in a cafe by the beach reading with coffees? There is a church there as well, but doubt that would take 4 hours to see

You have pretty much eliminated all there is to do in Positano. We enjoyed it greatly but we walked and climbed and had a long, liesurely lunch. Positano is built on the side of a very steep hill and there is almost no place to go without climbing steps and hills. Suggest you wear very comfortable shoes and stroll about to see the town. Then stop for a non-alcoholic beverage at a scenic cafe overlooking the sea.

Park him somewhere with a book and limitless coffee and wander off to enjoy Positano. Alternatively get there later.

Where there is money one often finds art galleries. Suggest getting a taxi or shuttle to the very top of Positano and walking down, no sweat. Try googling for art galleries and bookstores and antiques if that interests.

If you are willing to spend the money, go to Ravello instead and kill the time there. The gardens are world famous. The town is flat, so you don't have to worry about shoes and sweat. There is also a beautiful church there and you can check out the futuristic music auditorium. You might be able to conveniently catch buses from Positano to get there, but you would probably need to pay for a taxi back to Positano.
