Killarney to Dingle, Ireland

We will be traveling in the summer. I can't believe I started planning over a year ago. The only issue I am having is figuring out the Killarney to Dingle direct bus that goes three times a day.

I have gone to a number of websites. It looks like it is route 276 and is operated by TFI Local Link Kerry. I believe you must buy it through the TFI Go app so I installed that on my phone.

I am a planner so I would like to buy a ticket ahead of time even though it appears I am WAY too far out for June with this bus route. Anyway, I just messed around with the app looking at how it works.

Is there no way to pick a date and time for that bus on the app? I put in the route and it didn't offer me any specific days and times, but it will let me purchase a generic ticket on that route from Killarney to Dingle.

It states only one passenger per device. How will that work when I need to buy two tickets on my cell phone with that app?

How exactly do you order the tickets ahead of time? Thanks for any clarification.

says cash is accepted, which would mean you just get on the bus and pay the driver, either cash or probably also by debit card. There is no need to book it or use the app.

Darn. I saw people online recommending that you book a ticket ahead since it’s busy season. I’d hate to have an overbooked bus.

thanks

I did just read during summer the buses can run out of seats, and it only goes three times per day . I can buy one ticket 28 days ahead on my phone. The issue is they only allow one ticket "per device". My son doesn't have a cell phone. I even went in to make sure I really did buy two tickets from Galway to Dublin airport on the bus, and it is fine, but the service running Killarney to Dingle doesn't allow that.

Why not e-mail the bus company at the address in the link I posted?

I double checked the link you sent. It was a different email address than the one I already emailed, so I just sent an email to that address. I did see there are other options if the bus is overbooked to get from Killarney to Dingle, so I hope I don't need them, but at least it is light until late, so we should find a way by dark.

We booked a private shuttle from Killarney to Dingle a few years ago. It's more costly than public transport, but so much more convenient. They picked us up at our B&B in Killarney and delivered us to our doorstep in Dingle. The drive was relaxing, the scenery beautiful and the driver gave us a bit of a narrative on local sights along the way. We found it well worth the price. We used Begley Tours which is based in Dingle.

I will contact them. The bus company did reply quickly, but unfortunately, there is no way to book the tickets for the specific bus ahead of time from here.
