I'm really enjoying reading your trip report! Please keep it coming. I took your advice and booked Maximus tours online for the Vatican tour. If anyone is interested it is on sale right now for 25 Euro per adult. Sure hope we get as good a guide as you did! Thanks for the tip. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

ellenem and kybourbon - thanks for your suggestion. Just to confirm..your suggestion is to visit the Vatican Museum on another day and see the Pope's blessing at Noon on Sunday, March 29? how early should I be there? do we need reservation to visit the Vatican Museum?

TAW - how much is the actual ticket to the Vatican Museum? trying to find out how much is the actual ticket vs. guide. I've downloaded the free audio tour from Rick Steve's website.

reddy2go2 - kinda weird we are on the same schedule. I am leaving from Venice too and my flight is at 6 a.m... did you figure our the best way to get to the airport at 4 am?

jgliu, the reservation I got indicated that I'd still need to pay the admission of 14 Euro per adult to enter the Vatican.

jgliu -- I have started a different thread asking people how to get to the airport in Venice for a 6 am flight...looks like a land taxi (arranged by the hotel for about 100 euros might be the best bet.
