Keukenhof Gardens current conditions
We have a trip planned for April 9th but would like to time it right with the flowers. We live about 3 hours away, so we can always postpone the trip. This weekend just works out a bit better for our schedule. So, for those who have recently visited the gardens, can you give a review of the progress of the flowers? Thanks!

On Sunday the only flowers to be seen were the crocuses.
The daffodils, hyacinths, & tulips ranged from not out of the ground to about 6 inches tall. The grounds were beautifully manicured and the groundskeepers were working, there were few tourists, and the pavilions were lovely to visit. At present, the Keukenhof is mostly brown. |
We have a little over 2 weeks. Hopefully that will change??? :)

I've just spent a lovely hour admiring the changes in the Keukenhof. In the space of a week, with warm temps, sunny skies, and a bit of rain the crocuses are in full bloom as are many of the daffodils and some of the lower-growing, early tulips.
Where last week it was almost impossible to differentiate what was planted, this week the shapes and colours of the leaves are very obvious and it is possible to see the designs that have been planted. In 2 weeks time the gardens should be spectacular. I have my fingers crossed for you. |
Thank you! We are very excited and keep hearing from friends how wonderful Amsterdam is!
