Keukenhof and Aalsmeer Flower Market in same day

We will be staying at the Movenpick Amersterdam City Center Hotel in April 2011. How can we best get to the Keukenhof Gardens and the Aalsmeer Flower Market? Is it possible to do both on the same day? I think the market should be first because of the opening hours. Is the bus a feasible way to get from the city, from one to the other, and then back ito the city? At that time of year do the buses run early and late?

I suggest mid to late afternoon for Keukenhof. Allow about two hours in the garden. You can take a train to Haarlem or Leiden. From the station in either city take a bus or rent a bike. See my photo log of 2008 at http://tinyurl.com/y8hltjl.

I've never been to the Aalsmeer Flower Market but I understand that it takes place early in the morning. You should have no trouble seeing both the flower market and Keukenhof in one day.

If you are in Amsterdam on April 30 you can enjoy the Queen's Day celebration, http://tinyurl.com/yln3hrp.
