Kerry County/Dingle in Ireland

Hi all,

Hotel recommendations...

Thinking about Sheen Falls or Parnasilla. Looking for a scenic, luxury stay for a few days on the vacation.

Thoughts about the two??

Thanks!

Are you set on a hotel, or would a luxury B&B do? I prefer B&Bs in Ireland over hotels, unless I'm in Dublin.

I've heard great things about The Shores Country House. It's a bit north of Dingle Town, the other side of the Conor Pass, and all reviews have been rave from my friends. http://www.shorescountryhouse.com/

Not sure the two selections quite suggest B&B's as alternatives.

The Shores Country House is the opposite side of the peninsular to Dingle so it depends on your reason for choosing the peninsular? Pax House is one of the top rated B&B in/near Dingle town.

As for the two places named.....Sheen Falls Lodge is by Kenmare and would be a better choice for a few days giving more scope for exploring Kerry and west/north Cork. definitely gets my vote.

Parnasilla Resort at Sneem on the south side of Iveragh would be my second choice not too far onto the Ring of Kerry so lots of options.

I only suggested B&Bs because I've never done hotels in Ireland, and don't have any recommendations for them

Didn't phrase that very well did I..wasn't meant in a bad way and B&B's are great alternatives to most hotels. just that the two named are quite select.

Thank you both for the good information. We decided on Parnasilla for this trip, I like the location and the amenities. We are trying the Ballymaloe cooking school and inn near Ballycotton, It looks like a great B&B. HIghly recommended by Bobby Flay/Food Network. Anyone been there?
