Thanks you all. Yep last year I went to Laduree as they opened at 7:30 to get some fresh to take home, but could give them to my friends that night. Then I ate a few of the ones I bought for myself, but traveled a few days later and tried one when I got back. Not so great, but now I can't remember how many days had passed.

Like the idea of getting some at the beginning of the trip and seeing, but I am afraid I wouldn't have self control to wait that long. Guess I will have to find other gifts.

I added two of those silly little YouTube videos of the animated windows at Galeries Lafayette (the Printemps windows were just not as good, even if the same person animates the windows for both stores).

Loved looking at your photos! Just got back from Paris yesterday. I took many of the same. I was thinking about posting them but now I can relive here. What magnificent lights and decorations. It rained, as you said, everyday out of no where, but not the entire day. A beautiful, magical city none the less.
Thanks for posting these.
Bon Noel

I do have video of Printemps from across the street. It matches your still photos. Just beautiful.

I am going to try to add more photos this weekend. I saw that Saint Germain des Prés looked quite nice, even though it is an area that is normally not of much interest to me.

And the various "Mairies" (town halls) of the arrondissements are now illuminated. Some of them are worth a look.

Bravo Kerouac! Thank you so much. It's the next best thing to being there, and how I wish I were.

Thank you so much. I was in Paris last Christmas and this brought back great memories. Those French people certainly do have what you might call style. ;->

The photos are wonderful! I soo wish I could be there to see them. We spent a week in Paris in late September and it was just wonderful. I would love to see all our favourite places lit up for Christmas. Here in Oz it is a little more low key being hot for Christmas.

Just got back from Paris and it was as beautiful as your photos indicated, Kerouac. Interesting to note the number of very RED flocked christmas trees decorating many places this year!

Would love to see some photos of the Mairies if and when you get a chance. Merci!

Okay, I have added a few photos of Paris in the snow. That's Christmasy, isn't it?

Here is the link again: http://tinyurl.com/ydq4vvz

You have to go to page 2 of the link for the snow pictures and also the strange Canadian controversy.

Oh, thanks so much. I would so love to be there, I love the cold, especially around Christmas. I was in Copenhagen and Stockholm a few years ago, during the holidays and there was snow everywhere and it was freezing cold and it was just wonderful.

It's so nice of you to take the time to photograph all those sites and post them.

Ah, but the food I posted needs to be cooked! Not at all Joan's take on Parisian food.

I have added some views of Saint Germain-des-Prés and rue Mouffetard if you're not all completely bored yet.
