Wow, blue hula hoops! It's very striking to look at, but not exactly a Christmas look. Oh well, it's Paris----beautiful under any circumstances.

Mikenmass Dec 4th, 2011 10:31 AM

Thank you Kerouac, very nice!

Grassshopper Dec 4th, 2011 10:48 AM

Thank you!

tomarkot Dec 4th, 2011 11:12 AM

Kerouac, thanks for sharing your wonderful Christmas shots. It whets our enthusiasm for our upcoming trip!

TDudette Dec 4th, 2011 11:23 AM

Super. They rather look like hula hoops, eh?

denmal Dec 4th, 2011 11:45 AM

Would love to be there - Thanks for the pictures

Seamus Dec 4th, 2011 12:26 PM

kerouac, merci bien for yet another visual vacation. You rock!

denisea Dec 4th, 2011 01:07 PM

We were just there and thought that the blue light displays on the Champs Elysee looked like something from the Jetsons.

serge365 Dec 4th, 2011 01:23 PM

JETSONS...
The Jetsons is a animated American sitcom that was produced by Hanna- Barbera, originally airing in prime-time from 1962–1963 and again from 1985– 1987. ...

denisea..2012 is coming up in 3 1/2 weeks LOL...

Tentek Dec 4th, 2011 02:38 PM

kerouac, why the change in identity, may I ask?

cigalechanta Dec 4th, 2011 03:03 PM

Ten, he hasn't. Serge copied this from the forum Kerouac sponsors. Any port in the Storm. I asked K to put the Christmas windows here first, maybe it fell on deaf ears or maybe he is working on it. Meanwhile after see a dozen glimpses of the windows, I agree with something i read that they had nothing to do with Christmas. Not the best
show as other years.

kerouac Dec 4th, 2011 09:43 PM

Sorry all -- I am super busy with a family visit that is keeping me off the internet for the time being. There is almost nothing on that Christmas link yet, but I will get back to it as soon as possible.

Alan_CT Dec 5th, 2011 07:46 AM

And to think I just decorated the tree outside my U.S. home in the former style of the Champs-Elysees. Agree that the new look is cold and technocratic, not Christmasy at all. I hope they get a lot of complaints and go back.

BeachGirl247 Dec 5th, 2011 08:58 AM

Thanks for posting the link. I have to say I don't think we'll beat a path to see the blue light displays while there for Christmas.

justineparis Dec 5th, 2011 11:03 PM

Hmm, they look like any light display,, very commerical,,could be for any reason or any season, not Christmasy at all.. kind of cold.

serge365 Dec 12th, 2011 08:40 AM

bump

kerouac Dec 12th, 2011 09:39 AM

They aren't actually blue lights, BeachGirl -- they are every color at different times. The biggest problem that I have seen is large segments being out of order at various times. I can't really put the blame on them, because it can't be easy to keep 2 kilometers of electrical cable synchronized at all times on both sides of the street. Basically, they bit off more than they can chew.

I have added a few more things to my thread, but since my family visit just left today, I have much more work to do.

lrock5 Dec 12th, 2011 04:50 PM

We arrive the 22nd for our 1st ever visit to Paris at christmas. We are so excited. Every time someone comes even remotely near me that has a sniffle or cough at work I remind them I am about to leave and break out the hand sanitizer.

easytraveler Dec 12th, 2011 06:51 PM

Thanks, kerouac! Great work, as usual!
