Kenmare or Dingle
I don't think we will have time to do both. Which one would you choose?
|
Dingle.
|
Where are you going from there, where are you coming from, what's your itinerary, and how much time do you have?
You could easily spend a week in Kenmare doing day trips and touring the peninsulas in the area, whereas you could enjoy Dingle in a day & a half to 2 days. ((b)) |
Dingle

Hello,
Dingle is wonderful and full of historical sites. My husband and I were there last October and were able to cover the whole penninsula in one day. I would suggest staying a little longer in order to take in the quaint town. We stayed at the Milltown House B & B. Very nice innkeepers and excellent breakfast. Right on the water! Enjoy your trip! |
I agree with Budman, your time is the key. My husband and I were in both Dingle and Kenmare for two nights last month. We felt that was more than enough time for Dingle, but we could have used more time in Kenmare and the surrounding region. That said, Dingle has a great harbor, and "seafaring" feel which was vastly different from "Tidy Town" winner, Kenmare. Good luck choosing, that's the hardest part.

Thanks for the advice. We only have 2 days in that area and I wanted to spend 1 at Killarney National Park.
|
I would say if you only have 2 days in that whole area (that area being the western coast between Dingle and Kenmare), then if you want to spend a day in Killarney, you should probably make your base Kenmare instead of Dingle. There will be plenty to do in Killarney and Kenmare alone for your second day.

You do not have to stay in Killarney to enjoy the Park. Stay a night in Dingle then drive to Killarney, (about two hours) drive through town and get on the n-71 for a nice drive throught the park, stop along the say and enjoy all the sights,(Torc waterfall, Ladies view Etc.) drive into the mountains (lovely views)and stay your second night in Kenmare. Killarney has gotten to be a little to big and busy for me, you'll enjoy Kenamre's slower pace. Have fun
