Karen Brown Itineraries in Switzerland

Has anyone followed one of the itineraries listed in Karen Brown's Inns and Small Hotels of Switzerland? I've enjoyed following portions of her routes, especially in Spain and was wondering what other thought of suggestions for Switzerland.

How do you access Karen Brown Itineraries--in bookstores?

Yes. You can download them from her website Karenbrown.com, but it's rather expensive-about $7. There are 4 or 5 in the book. Better to go browse to decide if you are interested. Her website also lists about half of the hotels that are included in the book.

Yes. The Hot Dorint in Beatenburg, but be sure to request a NONSMOKING room.
Also, very highly recommend "Motorcycle Journeys through the Alps".

Hi stillhouse,

I used to have an old edition of her Switzerland book, and I have used it for hotel recommendations. The reason I don't use it for itineraries is that she has too many stops for my very limited vacations; I prefer to stay in one area for four to six nights. I can say that her pick for stops is great (but then, really, anyplace in Switzerland is pretty great!).

You can check out her routing by rail --schedules at www.rail.ch, and driving --routes at www.mappy.com.

If you have a question about a specific place or a specific itinerary, maybe we can help you.
