Kandersteg or Grindelwald

Can anyone help with the choice between staying in Kandersteg or Grindelwald? We are considering the Ruedihus in Kandersteg or the Hotel Gletschergarten in Grindelwald. Are these places so similar that either choice would be a winner?

Also, does one area offer more for a family than the other? Is one area more accessible?

Both are lovely but Grindelwald has far more to see and do and is more centro to other attractions. With a family I would certainly prefer Grindelwald.
