Many of you are posting good recommendations for www.justairports.com. I looked at their website and sent an email with a question several days ago with no response yet.

How do I determine which zone I'm staying in? I'll be at the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel at 252 High Holborn London, WC1V 7EN. This is close to the Holborn tube station.

Justairports charges a wait fee. How long should we plan on between the time we land at Heathrow and pick-up? Will we not be checking luggage, but we do need, of course, to get through customs and stop by an ATM. There will be two of us.

They offer sedans or for an additional 4GBP they have estate cars. Not sure what they mean by estate car. Has anyone chosen one and was it worth it? We will be flying through the night from California, landing at 12:15 pm.

I don't kmnow what justairports means by zones (if they mean the same as the transport zones you will be in zone 1)

But your other question - an estate is simply a station wagon. usually only required if you have a lot of luggage.

I haven't used justairports - but other car services I have used - I tell them my flight number and ETA and they decide the best time to arrive.

Does the question about which zone related to Justairports or to riding the tube? If it's the former and you're trying to use the on-line estimate screen, use the first three alphanumeric characters of the post code you're staying in (WC1 in your case). Otherwise, you're in Zone 1 for the tube.

Justairports allows time after your actual landing for you to progress through customs & immigration. It's 45 minutes or something close to that. The wait fee only applies if you go beyond the 45 minutes. I've never had that happen.

Estate cars larger than saloon or sedan cars and you might need one depending on the number of people in your party and amount of luggage.

Don't forget to take the cash option for a much lower price.

I've only had good service from this company so it's surprising that they haven't replied to your email, although I seem to recall someone else recently saying the same thing. I generally call directly to make a booking and to confirm the on line estimate.

Last year I began emailing justairports several weeks prior to departing on our trip. I sent several emails and never got a response at all.

I finally gave up and called Swiss Cottage Cars when we arrived in London and arranged for pickup.

Thought perhaps that when I returned from the trip I would find a response in my email - maybe they had been busy, backlogged at work, etc. - but there was nothing.

I've always received a reply from JustAirports by the following day, even on weekends. Have you checked your spam folder?

As mentioned above, your zone would be WC1.

To my recollection, total fee waiting time is 1 hour and 10 minutes. This will be clearly explained in your e-mail confirmation. It's a good idea to check your watch when you land.

If you think you'd need more time (we never have), you can request that the driver wait longer after your plane is scheduled to enter the airport. We've always been able to get to the ATM, use the rest rooms, go through Customs, and collect our bags in just under one hour.

By zone, then mean the postal code and as pointed out, in your case it is WC1. Actually I don't know where you're seeing 'zone' as on their online booking form, it just says 'Choose a Postcode'.

I didn't try their booking form. I just booked by phone. I didn't ask about waiting time but rather just gave them my flight number and arrival time.

Justairports worked very well for us. We had an 'estate', which was a mini-van (we were a family of 4). I beleive we gave them our flight info, and they scheduled the car accordingly. They also check the flight arrival times so if a flight is running late, they accommodate that. They gave us a time and location to meet them near baggage claim. They were there as indicated, no wait fees.

I did figure out that we are staying in WC1. The cost for two people to travel roundtrip between the airport and our hotel is about $100 total, so I am booking it. Thanks all for the advice.

I booked a ride for myself and 3 others when we arrive in London in a few weeks (Yippee!) - cost is £30 - how much should we tip? I was figuring £5.
