Just wondering

First time to Spain and I understand dinner is from around 0830 to 2300. Since all the action seems to be very late in the evening and extends to the wee hours, why does the Metro stop at Midnight and not start again until 0500? I know it runs a bit later on the weekends but hey this is Spain right?

That's why everyone goes to clubs at midnight and come home at 5.

so correct,

you see people walking around at 6 am to 8 am looking for breakfast carrying their shoes on Saturday and Sunday mornings

20:30 (8:30 pm) is early for dinner. Those who usually do go out for dinner, especially during the hot summer months, seldom arrive before 23:00. In the summer, we usually do pintxos or tapas starting at around 20:00 and finish with a gin tonic at midnight.

" why does the Metro stop at Midnight" ? It's time for the metro driver to go to dinner.

kybourbon - spot on! That was me about 20 years ago!!

The best are the Spanish weddings that go until 6 or 7 am!!

I have not problems eating early - The pintxos and tapas are plentiful / delicious and take the place of dinner often for me.

Roberto2533 - I like your answer too!
