Just returned from Spain. Any questions?

My wife and I just returned from a wounderful trip to Spain. We would be glad to answer any questions you might have. We stay in Segovia, Salamonca, Caceres, Zafra, Seville, Arcos, Nerja, Granada, Toledo, and Madrid.

Granada, Arcos, Seville, Toledo, and Madrid are on our itinerary for the 8 days we have in Spain in October (also Barcelona, where you didn't go). I'd appreciate any tips on efficient use of time in those cities. Is it necessary to reserve a visit time at the Alhambra and wait in line to do so? Does any other important attraction operate that way? Was there anything you considered a waste of time that might be avoided? Did you drive, and if so, are the toll roads sufficiently better than alternatives to be worth the price?
Thanks for your kind offer of information!

A friend and I are planning a trip to Spain from London during the first week of September. I have no selected which city I want to be my first place to stay. I would like to know your opinion about renting a car, and which cities would you definitely recommend visiting. We really like to salsa dance.

My wife and I plan trip to Spain this winter. How is weather in December,-February?
What hotels do you suggest?(We are into budget trip.)
We also plan on going to Canary Islands to visit Spanish friend.

According to my travel books the average high will be between 47 and 62 degrees depending on where you are. The average low will be between 33 and 57 degrees. These fiqures are in farenheit. At worst you will have at least 22 days of sun per month. We essentially went on a "budget trip" average 3 star hotels. The Hotel Cason del Tormes in Madrid was pretty good for the money,(About $55 a night) and was the cheapest of the trip. Frommer's Spain gives a real nice run down on hotels of all money classes.
I see you didn't stay in Cordoba. Did you visit Cordoba and day trip from Seville? If so was that enough time or would you recommend staying in Cordoba for a night?
My Girlfriend and I will be flying to Gibraltar at
the end of August, to camp and / or find cheap
accommodation in southern Spain for a fortnight. We
would mainly like to be near the coast, but away
from the most touristy areas. Where would you
recommend? How about getting a bus either East
towards Almeria, or West towards Cadiz, or perhaps
both? Thanks for any suggestions.

These are all excellent questions. Can you share the info publicly? Thanks!

Were are going to travel to Madrid in mid October and plan to see the city in 2-3 days. Also we planned to visit Toledo, Seville and possibly do Gibraltar if time permits (5 days excluding time in Madrid). It would be great if you could recommend any hotels/ restaurants/ sites etc. in these cities as well as any particular things to avoid. Thank you very much.

After searching through the www.renfe.es web page and reading my guidebook, I still can't determine if there is a train (or bus?) that travels from Seville to Malaga. Any advice?

Hi Rick,

My wife and I will be traveling along the Spanish
East Coast throughout the month of October.
Did you require a Hepititus A shot prior to your
visit?
We heard that it is advisable?

Thanks,
Don

Rick,
My girlfriend and I are heading to Spain in late October. We will begin in Barcelona, but plan on taking the train to Madrid for a 4-5 day stint around that part of the country. I am considering renting a car in Madrid, bypassing the city scene and travelling around for several days before returning to Madrid and directly back to Barcelona. Where our little excursion will take us is still up in the air. If we're only talking 4-5 days of driving, what would you consider a must visit/see or overnight stay? I'm guessing we will choose 2-3 main locations to visit and stay overnight. Should I bother even renting a car? I appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you,
Eric
