Just returned from S/W Ireland -Summary!
My daughter (13yrs) and I just returned from a four-day trip to S/W Ireland. As a quick summary (to be followed by more details), we covered West Cork, Beara, Killarney, and Dingle. Overall, the weather was great (2 of 3 days in 50s and no rain) and we saw alot of unique sights off the beaten path that I'll soon share. We also stayed at hotels in Bantry, Kenmare, and Tralee. Given this quick swing thru this varied area, we already planning a return trip to explore these areas more thoroughly.

Oh yeah, you'll be back. You picked a nice quiet time to travel in Ireland. Glad you had a great time.

Bill

Your message makes me miss Ireland even more than usual. Dingle and Kenmare are so beautiful. And nothing beats the Irish for hospitality. What a nice treat for your daughter-lucky girl.

I can't wait to hear about your trip. We are taking our first trip to Ireland this June and will be visiting the SW. Thanks for sharing...I wish more people would post info after their return!

I'm in Killarney the last few days of April - can Irishescaper (or whomever) make recommendations for that town - pubs, dinner, fine shops without the tourist nonsense, off-beaten-path places in town? I already have plans for the Natl. Parks and the Ring. Also, where's the best place away from the city lights to stargaze without getting lost coming back to town?

I am waiting for you to share more, like the hotels, and the FOOD! Isn't it wonderful?
