Ciao! We will be on the Amalfi Coast in July...(crowded, I know!)...thinking of staying in Praiano and wondering if we can do without a car? We did Venice/Florence/Rome last year and are very savvy with trains and busses, plus I speak Italian. Would appreciate your opinion. Grazie!

I wish to apologize to any of you still waiting for a answer. I was overwhelmed with the response and tended to forget where I left off on replys. If anyone still would like a response, please contact me at my e-mail address and I promise to reply.

Excuse my ignorance - what is the "slow count"?

Thanks,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe in August of this year (1998). We will have approximately 3 days in Rome and 1 day in Venice. My most important question is lodging. Are there any B&B's to stay at that might be less expensive than the Hotel Imperial in Rome and the Cavaletto in Venice?? My travel agent found both of these, however the price seems unusually high. Responses would be very much appreciated!! Also, what are the "must sees" in both Rome and Venice. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!!

Hi Vicki - thanks so much for your response to my questions on Sorrento - a mile and a half uphill -I'm also in my early 50's you must be in good shape.

I do have one more question - I'm a Coca Colaholic - before my husband has a heart attack over the price of a bottle of Coke do you recall how much a can or bottle was? In a restaurant and in a store.
You may not think so but this information is very important to me. Also has anyone taken the train from Naples to Sorrento - do you buy your train ticket from Eurail before you depart or do you just buy it at the train station? We're not buying a Euraill Pass as we're only taking a train from Naples to Rome and from Venice to Florence . Thanks so much for all your help.
