Quiet Hotel in Marais Area of Paris?
DH & I will be spending 6 days in Paris in mid-May '08. We want to stay in a small, charming hotel on a quiet street in the Marais area with a tariff under 175 E's. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hôtel Jeanne d'Arc, le Marais
3, rue de Jarente 75004 Paris is a lovely hotel and it fills up very fast, so if you like it, you should make reservations immediately. It's on a quiet street, perfectly located in the Marais. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Probably no air conditioning, though

Are you set on a hotel, or have you thought about renting an apartment? My Mom and I went to Paris in May and we rented a studio apartment in Montmartre.
It was perfect for two people, and with a well-equipped kitchen, we were able to cook for ourselves (when we wanted to). Also, it was located on a quiet street, but near the Sacre Coeur, so we weren't far from metro stops or cafes when we wanted to dine out.
And at 70 euros per night, it was an amazing bargain! I found the apartment we stayed in on Craigslist, and it was a very smooth transaction with the owner who lives in NYC.
Just thought I'd throw the idea out there if you're interested Bon voyage!
