Just returned from Berlin-Pergamon museum.

Hi
We just returned from Berlin and wanted to remind people that the Pergamon Museum is closing this year for renovations and wont reopen until 2010, I believe. It's a museum not to be missed. will write aboiut our trip shortly. We were in Dresden and Potsdam too.

Maybe aeiger will have more current information, but the Museum's website lists a special exhibition (The Last Hours of Herculaneum) through Jan. 1, 2006, so presumably it is open until then.

Hi
It will be closing sometime early 2006 and will remain closed for several years for renovation. It could use some air conditioning. I did not note the exact date of closing, but said to my wife that I'm glad we came this year. Sorry I don't have the exact closing date. They are currently renovation a couple of other museums that will be closed for some time also.

Aeiger, I was there in May and loved the Perg. Had the Agyptsches Museum relocated to Museum Isle yet? It was in the process of doing so in May.

Oh, pooh. That stinks. I didn't go to Berlin several years ago when I had the chance because the other antiquities museum was closed for renovation. Well...guess I'll be waiting until the Pergamon Museum reopens!
