Seems the recommendations for Obidos are to avoid the Pousada there and to use Nazare as a "base camp" for the region.

try specialfares.com for a car. I got the site from a postin on travel site (can't remember which one) . We already had a car rented from Auto Europe and when I told them about the cheaper deal offered through this site, they matched it.

XYMOX, where did you stay in Sintra? Could you please us if you liked it and would recommend it -- if so, something about the size of the room, etc. Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the late response. We stayed at Verde Sintra (http://www.quintaverdesintra.com/). We love it. It's a B&B near Sintra. The owners were very friendly and made us feel at home. We rented a car to get around. You'll like it.
