Check out the 'Vlaaikensgang' not far from your hotel (Banks, right?). It's one of the oldest alleys in Antwerp.

As i type, we are sitting in a small square just down the street from Hotel Banks called BarBistro enjoying the weather and the lively patrons laughing in a large group, the multitude of languages is delightful, tourist everywhere, leaving to Bruges tomorrow for two days. We have an English speaking walking tour planned and a bike ride around the city and out to Damme :0) |
Feeling jealous! Have an amazing time!

This is fun -- reading the delight in your posts . . .

I will do a trip report eventually, but........ sad to leave Antwerp :0( But the exciting scenic IC “B”ride to Bruges helped, we had a wonderul meal near the Martin’s Relais where we are staying, out in the courtyard area just behind. There has been no language barrier at all, infact in a moment of panic thinking we were on the wrong train going to Bruges, i made an announcement, “does anyone speak English” to our rescue a very nice lady said, “a little :0) “ she assured us we were indeed on the right train. Anyone thinking traveling abroad is too scary, its all in ur head, people are always willing to help as you would in ur home town to assist a moment of panic. Please get past this and just GO !!!!!! We absolutely love Europe, its a breath of fresh air, its different and wonderful all at once, I cannot wait for our next adventure. I know this is very personal, but this is my second marriage and my wife keeps me laughing, we compliment each other during stressful moments and happy silly moments. I love her with all my heart and she has made this wonderful trip that you all helped plan totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!! thanx again Forum members :0) PS: Elton John was absolutely fantastic, the sound was crystal clear, he was so engaging, his set list was a greatest hits galore, check it out. I never saw a show where the lights came on so he could see all of us :0) the energy he and his bandmates put out was unmatched, Thank You Elton !!!!! https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/elton...-3b9004d8.html |
I heard from friends that Elton was fantastic. Enjoy Brugge!

You're probably in Amsterdam on May 28; there's a transport strike that day. Not a problem if you are IN Amsterdam. You can walk mostly everywhere in Amsterdam.
Don't do any daytrips though! |
