I still have to write up something from the trip to London in November, with photos and all. next project. see how they pile up?

you have fabulous photos by the way. you've made me look at "food photos" in a whole different light! The one of the onions was fantastic.

cheers!

Hi Flygirl,
I knew you'd have a marvelous time!

Giancarlo Alu actually has 2 vacation homes, one in Bagno Reggia, and one in Bomarzo.

The restaurant Room you wrote of was actually formed by a group of young Europeans, and is one of two restaurants. They hope to open more, to represent each country they're from. I met two of the "partners", one of them a young lady from London, the other a gentleman from Rome.

Definitely return to Rome, as it merits much further exploration. At least now that your feet are "wet", you can devote time on your next trip to getting to other aspects of the city.

And also, now you understand why I had to buy a new "carry on" during my first trip there! Man, that city is sure meant for shopping!

Ciao, bella!

Actually those were garlic! http://www.worldisround.com/articles/78197/photo6.html It was taken in Barclcona at the mercado (the photo on the web site doesn't do it justice). They were stacked quite hit but in perfect place. I just love taking food shots as the Europeans take such care in displaying their foods.

I'm available anytime for lunch - just let me know. I can't wait to get to London!

Don't mind me tagging on, but here are my Tuscany 2004 photos! http://www.worldisround.com/articles/78166/index.html

Thanks for giving me a laugh of the day. When I was in Naples I used that exact phrase trying to cross to a companion. The trick is to do just like the frog in the game and hop briskly ahead in spacial jerks.

But seriously, I had a guide about 15 years ago in Rome who told me to NOT look eye to eye, but to just move imperiously ahead, acting as if you had an invisible sheild around you. I also saw this same guide get nudged once by a fendor (not hard but he was touched) and saw him immediately slam his hand down on the hood. And then it started.

So I do think it is quite exactly like frogger.

In Frogger, you get to hit New Game when you get splatted.

Bookie tells me (in an email) that "Room" is located at 9 via Lucullo, ph# 06.42020434

I do recommend it, as I recall it was in the vicinity of the American Embassy.
