Bob- Wonderful report! I've printed it out to share with the others in our group of five couples heading that way in October. And I'm glad to see that other Fodorites are planning to be there about that time. Get your blue pins ready!

Hi, Bob. I'd love to have a copy of your trip report to Rome. Thanks.
|
Would love to read your "book" also. We are going to Italy the end of September.

Thanks
|
Bob, Would also love to have a copy of your report. I'll have one day there. Any suggestions on what not to miss?
Thanks. :-)

Hi Bob. I finished reading your l-o-n-g trip report last night...and I found myself wondering if it would fit inside St. Peter's. :~)

Seriously, it was a real pleaure to read; your enthusiasm for this wonderful city was so palpable that it almost lept off the screen. Reading it brought back a flood of memories of the seven days my girlfriend & I spent there about two months ago. Sure wish Filetti di Baccala would've been open when we were there, and we'll definitely keep Residenza San Pantaleo in mind for our next trip there (we did, after all, throw coins over our shoulder into the Trevi Fountain!)

Hi Bob & Carol,
Just add another request for your trip report. We will be in Rome the early part of October. Looking forward to reading all about your wonderful trip.
|
Hello Bob
Would really appreciate an email of your trip.
Thanks so much
Bob - I just finished reading your trip report. What a treat! Thanks for sending it to me this morning. I have shared it with my husband. In fact, he copied it to a word file and was able to compress it into 12 easy-to-read pages. It is definitely worth keeping. As we share the same travel philosophy as you and Carol, this will be a perfect "travel guide" for us.

Do you plan to put any of your photos on a web site? You mention many of your photo ops. I can visualize these places as I read, but being able to to see what you actually saw as we read the report would be the "icing on the cake!" Thanks again.

Bob

Could Lynn's address be [email protected], maybe?
|
Bob,
Another request for your trip report, please. We were planning a 3 day visit to Rome as part of a round the world trip in Jan 2002, but with the enthusiasm your report has generated, seems we may have to allocate more days.
Jas

Hi Bob,
I'm very interested in reading your report also. Headed to Italy in 3 1/2 weeks for our honeymoon, and will be in Rome for 3 nights during our trip. Looking forward to reading what you & Carol did and finalizing our trip. Thanks for your help!
crc

Thanx for all the interest in our vacation report. I hope that those who have received it via email have enjoyed it. My feeling has always been that if I can get one good thing that can help in my own planning it's definitely worth reading. I am like you in that I thirst for information about where I'm going or just thinking about going.

Just a few notes:
To Patti! One day in Rome and what to do. Wow! There's so much. In my opinion, St. Peter's/Vatican and the Colosseum. But Carol also reminds me of a tour that goes around the city. I don't know the name of it but I remember reading about it when we were planning our trip. We didn't do it but it sounded intriguing. It's a bus that takes you to all the key sites, you pay one fare, and can use it all day. Just keep getting on and off this bus. This is one thing you may want to look into. Possibly other Fodorites know more. Hope this helps. Will be sending you trip report separately.

To Terry! Carol took probably 300+ photos and we've gotten most of them back including some B/W's. Unfortunately, nothing is digital. So we can't post them. I've never done anything like that and wouldn't know where to begin. Wish we could share them as they are pretty neat. My almost 3 hour video also came out great. I love to tape. I even have video of the singing waiter at Filetti di Baccala referred to in our report!!

Also, thanks for the tip above regarding "LondonMom" -- I'm going to try that email address.

Appreciate all the kind words. Again, if I can help with any Q's, pls let me know.

Bob (& Carol)

Bob, please add my email if you haven't gotten too worn out from sending yet. Thanks.

Bob,

Thanks for sending me your trip report. It was fun to read about folks having such a good time in a fabulous city. We make our second trip this fall and sent in a request for the Scavi tour at St. Peter's which we didn't do the first time.

Trish,

We were just there with out kids in March. A great restaurant that has excellent food and is unbelievably inexpense is Mario's. Here's a comment from the website http://www.francescatravel.com/rome.htm

Ristorante Mario's Via del Moro,53 Tel 06/580.38.09 A very homey place. The servers make you feel like you're eating at your Italian aunt's. Located in Trastevere, a hotbed of great places to eat and drink.

I was first taken there by locals 20 yrs ago. We found it again on our recent trip. It's nothing fancy but a great place to eat and filled with italian families.
