Jessie! Outdoorsy places like Tivoli will be shut for winter, but everything else will be open. Copenhagen is not a tourist resort, it is a hometown for over half a million people.

Jessie,

You'd asked about where to stay in Copenhagen. K.Noel had mentioned Kong Arthur as an Ok place. A year ago when planning a week-long stay in Copenhagen, we'd actually reserved a room at Kong Arthur. When getting there and after checking in, we discovered they don't have air conditioning. Scandinavia was having a real heatwave and our room was VERY hot, even with the window open. My husband wanted to leave right then, but I was too tired to go anywhere, so we spent our first night there, not sleeping much, I may add.

The next day we checked into the Radisson SAS Royal and just loved it. Had a suite on the top (20th?) floor, the whole wall was covered with windows, and had a beautiful view of the city. The breakfast buffet each morning was excellent.

In fact, we loved the hotel so much that we stayed there again this summer for a few nights before leaving on a cruise of the Baltic. Again, the room was great, and so was the view, service, and the buffet.

It is centrally located, very close to the Central train station. If you'd like to just ride the train in from Kastrup like we did this year, it is very easy. The ride is about 10-15 minutes and only costs about $7 per person.

The address of the Radisson Royal is Hammerichsgade 1 and their phone number is (45)33-426000. Highly recommended.

Benita

P.S. We paid about $165.00 per night this year in August.
